Tremains Corporate Triathlon

March 17 was the date of this year's Tremains Corporate Triathlon. In conjunction with Hawke’s Bay Multisports Club and Sport Hawke’s Bay, Tremain Real Estate was proud to bring this event to Hawke's Bay in 2013. Teams compete over a course of a 600-metre swim or 1700-metre kayak, 5km run or walk and 20km bike ride. Please note that you must have three people in each team. The event begins at Pandora Pond where the kayakers hit the water first followed by the swimmers. The triathlon will finish at The Esplanade Domain, Westshore and there will be free buses on hand to transport swimmers and supporters from Pandora Pond to this area. The main transition area, registration point and tent area is also at The Esplanade Domain. It's the largest event of this type held in Hawke's Bay. Whilst competitive, it is also a lot of fun and largely about groups of co-workers or friends challenging themselves in the triathlon and then enjoying each other's company over a drink and BBQ afterwards. Anyone can and does participate. We're proud of this iconic community event with 100% of surplus funds distributed back into the community through the Hawke's Bay Multisports Club and Sport Hawke's Bay. |
The 2013 Tri saw a huge increase in participation with a total of 453 teams (1359 competitors) entered. It was an awesome day enjoyed by all and the atmosphere of the event was great thanks to all the competitors and their supporters. Well done to everyone who participated!
